This story is about two young boys that are not only brothers but best friends. These two "sportskids" of the year were honored at the Sports Illustrated event. Conner hooks Cayden up to his bike and races with his brother as a way to connect. They may finish last in the races but they are alwasy the happiest to finish.

Hockey is back! Saturday was a day jam packed with crazy hockey fans. The LA Kings recieved their rings, Jagr started his season with Dallas, and the Flyers played their rivals, the Pengiuns. Ticket sales were at an all time high proving everyone has missed the game.

Unfortunately, the Flyers lost thier home opener. Claude Giroux had an excellent game as captain. They Flyers miss their star defesemen Chris Pronger.

Stop Motion Test

P.O.W. #2

It's a small world! I searched for some time trying to find all of the continents and to make sure they looked good together. Australia couldn't be the size of all of North America so that took awhile. Next, I jumbled them all together to make the huge world we live into one picture.

A new elementary school in Connecticut will be named after Victoria Soto. Victoria Soto was killed in the Newtown shooting protecting her younger students. The new elementary school was going to be named after the school it was replacing, Honeyspot Academy, but the citizens in Stratford, Connecticut rather honor one of their own. Soto grew up in the area and her aunt even taught at the previous Honeyspot Academy. I think this is a perfect way to honor a hero like Victoria Soto. She saved her whole entire class without thinking of herself. The name will remind kids of the selfless behavior we should all exhibit.

Hasbro has started a "Save Your Token" compaign to let Monopoly fans choose which game pieces they want to keep in the classic game of Monopoly. Hasbro has decided to retire one of the tokens used by players during the game. The Scottie dog, top hat, race car, battleship, wheelbarrow, shoe, thimble, and iron are all on the chopping block. While people vote to keep thier favorite they can also pick the replacement from a list of a cat, guitar, toy robot, helicopter, or diamond ring. Monopoly has been around for over a hundred years. Countless numbers of people know the game and the pieces so well and cannot imagine things differently. Monopoly is changing like everything else in this world. Go vote for your favorite game token! http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/2013/01/08/monopoly-board-game-tokens-change/1805387/

This is a wooden block with a favorite saying of mine on it. If I could take this picture again I would get rid of the sides so that you would not be able to see the radio and the dresser I have behind it.

2012 Year in Review

Sargeant Jeremy Cooney was deployed to Afganistan and left behind a son who was born with cerebral palsy. his son wasn't able to walk..or so he thought. Over the seven month deployment his son Matthew learned how to walk on his own. Matthew showed of his new skill to his unexpecting dad who never thought he would see Mathew walk. The video footage of Matthew walking to his dad is beyond inspiring. Being a navy kid myself, I know the emotions beyond that exact moment when you see your loved one for the first time in a long time. It was hard to hold back tears watching this.
